i2iThis event concept emerged as I was reintegrating into the Valley. I was refueling old connections and establishing new relationships that were amazing. I was watching people with tremendous entrepreneurial spirit making a huge impact

on our community – individuals who were tirelessly giving of themselves to enhance the lives of friends and neighbors. Reflection begged the question: Who is cheerleading the cheerleaders?

Around the same time, I found myself engrossed in the world of TED-talks. I was watching multiple every week and they were serving as a little jolt of energy to encourage me to get up and keep going. To keep moving my mission forward.
While the one-hour keynote has its place, TED-talks work because they are action-packed and quick-hitting. They showcase exceptional speakers who deliver high energy, engaging, and thought-provoking messages. I started sharing
these talks with others. Then, I was struck by the fact that I was hearing so many stories from friends and colleagues that mirrored these messages.

The two ideas combined to lead to the idea of bringing a TED-x inspired event to the region. The theory was simple – Invite exceptional people in our community to share their story, connect with other influential members of the community,
and enjoy an evening in one another’s company.
